There is a huge shortage of skilled health workers in developing countries.

Shortages include eye health workers who are needed to screen patients and identify conditions or problems. It means people often can’t get the treatment they need.

Your gift could help to train one of our partner’s members of staff by sending them on a three-day primary eye care course.

School teacher, Mim, attended a three-day workshop held by Sightsavers to learn about eye care.

Mim is now able to screen the children at her school and test their sight. She can identify those who need help and refers more serious cases to the hospital for treatment.

Mim identified one student who was diagnosed as having cataract and given an operation. She is now excelling at school and is very grateful to Mim for her help in getting the treatment she needed.
