Regular screening sessions for school children are an effective way of spotting problems with sight early on.

Reaching children when they are young gives Sightsavers an improved chance of treating any problems and preventing permanent sight loss, and can reduce the risk of a child falling behind at school.

Your gift could provide a screening for 150 children.

Students in Colombo, Sri Lanka are having their eyesight tested. Any children found to have sight problems will be referred for further treatment.

During a school screening Musharif was diagnosed with cataract in both eyes.

Musharif had been struggling at school and wasn’t able to concentrate on his studies. He had become withdrawn and lost his confidence.

His father could not afford the medical treatment that was desperately needed. Fortunately, Musharif was offered a free cataract operation and his vision was fully restored.
